One of the four ads is okay; the others show little spark
4 ads in 4 minutes each with the catchy jingle “Newport smokes fresher, tastes better too” right at the end. Only the third ad works: a spoof on Get Smart, where the dopey spy thinks the pack of Newports the Chief has given him contains some secret function.
The other three ads have no imagination: tying a fly, a magician, and a jazz pianist. The latter concentrates on the hands of the pianist for most of the ad in a static shot that also features a pack of Newport. The piano playing is good, but the ad…
